INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Thank you for your purchase from Lakewood Industries. For

CAUTION: THIS INSTALLATION REQUIRES WELDING OF PRODUCT TO
VEHICLE. WELDING SHOULD BE PERFORMED BY A TRAINED OR
COMPETENT OPERATOR. ALL WELDING SAFETY PRECAUTIONS SHOULD
BE FOLLOWED WHILE WELDING ON THIS OR ANY VEHICLE.BE CERTAIN
TO CHECK FOR FUEL OR FUEL VAPOR LEAKS PRIOR TO WELDING ON
THIS OR ANY VEHICLE. KEEP A SHORT CURRENT LOOP BY PLACING
GROUND CLAMP AS CLOSE TO WORK AS POSSIBLE. DISCONNECT
NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE.
WARNING: DUE TO THE TECHNICAL NATURE OF THIS PRODUCT,
AND SPECIALIZED EQUIPMENT, PROFESSIONAL INSTALLATION IS
RECOMMENDED.
CAUTION: INSTALLATION OF THIS PRODUCT REQUIRES WORKING
UNDER THE VEHICLE. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE INSTALLER TO
ENSURE A SAFE WORKING ENVIRONMENT. THE USE OF AN AUTOMOTIVE
LIFT IS RECOMMENDED. MAKE SURE THAT THE VEHICLE IS SAFELY
SUPPORTED AND ALWAYS USE JACK STANDS. ALWAYS WEAR
SAFETY GLASSES.

WE ENCOURAGE YOU TO ENJOY USING OUR PRODUCTS SAFELY AT A SANCTIONED RACING FACILITY. PLEASE OBEY ALL TRAFFIC LAWS.
Section I
1. Disconnect emergency brake cable from both rear spindle
assemblies and remove fastener that secures emergency
brake cable to lower trailing arm mounting point on body.
2. Remove lower trailing arm from vehicle.
3. Remove plastic road debris deflectors which are located just
forward of lower trailing arm body mounting point.
4. Bend speed nut tabs down (flatten) on front trailing arm
mounting point.
5. Place torque box brace into place and secure outer and
inner brackets with appropriate fasteners provided in
installation kit.
6. Identify weld points for joining brace to body then remove
brace and clean these surfaces in preparation for welding.
7. Replace brace and secure with appropriate hardware as in
step # 4.
8. Replace lower trailing arm into vehicle and using 14mm bolt,
hex nut and steel spacer bushings provided assemble as
shown in illustration.
Note: reinstall factory hardware on lower trailing arm rear mount on
axel housing.
9. Hand tighten all fasteners.
Section II – Welding
1. Weld brace to body at locations indicated by arrows in
illustration.
2. Reattach emergency brake cable to spindle assembly and
fasten brake cable bracket to provision in torque box brace.
3. Use a threadlock such as loctite on the 14 mm hex nut used
at the trailing arm body mounting point and fully tighten.
4. Fully tighten all fasteners.
